The Irish Wolfhound Club Of Northern Ireland supported the 3 Irish Wolfhound classes scheduled at Ballymena & District Dog Fanciers Association Open Show on Tuesday July 13th 2010.

The Club had nominated to judge committee member Mr Michael Donnelly (Cuaontroime IWs).

The venue for the show was the Ballymena Show Grounds, the show was nicely laid out with ample space and the IWCNI was allotted a large ring. The day was perfect weather for IWs, chilly, although there were rain clouds looming in the sky but thankfully the rain stayed away. There was a nice relaxed atmosphere at the show, and most of our members with and without hounds turned up to support Micheal on his first judging appointment.

The Club would like to thank Jollyes Pet Store, Ballymena for so generiousley supplying the Club with dog food and dog treats as prizes.

The Club must thank Kenny Stevenson, who as usual did an excellent job of stewarding

There was an good entry of 16 IWs

BOB was awarded to Finney's Gulliagh Barraduff the winner of the Open D/B class. Res BOB/BPIB to Clark's Tarlog Liam Neeson, wh had won the Puppy D/B class.

After judging Club members enjoyed an excellent picnic, the tables were covered with a magnificent array of food and all sorts of goodies followed by some liquid refreshments to wash it all down with.

Recently Michael had celebrated his birthday, so a large fresh cream cake covered with delicious raspberries was produced and everyone sang “HAPPY BIRTHDAY “to Michael.

Hopefully the Club supporting classes at Ballymena Open show will become a regular event on the IWCNI calendar.
